Bartender – Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown So Ma
Location: Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa, San Francisco, CA.
OverviewThe Bartender is responsible for setting up the bar area, mixing drinks for all guests and servers, maintaining service and cleanliness, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and overseeing liquor inventory.
Responsibilities- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and serve guests promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel's mixing and presentation standards.
- Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Break down the bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment according to hotel standards.
- Follow all state liquor laws.
- Know hotel services and facilities.
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules.
- Serve liquor carefully to avoid problems with intoxicated guests.
- Respond to guests' problems, complaints, and accidents.
- Be familiar with all fire exit and fire extinguisher locations and know how to operate them.
- Keep the bar and service areas clean and tidy during service.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Flexible with long hours; sometimes required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and 20 pounds frequently or constantly.
- Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
- Strong listening, understanding, and clarifying skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Attend all hotel-required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel scheduling.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them as needed.
- Understand and apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives.
- Cross‑train in other hotel-related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
