The problem:
Every minute matters in fire response. As climate change amplifies the intensity of wildfires—with longer fire seasons, dryer fuels, and faster winds—new ignitions spread faster and put more communities ay, most wildfires are detected by bystanders and reported via 911, meaning it can take hours to detect a fire, verify its exact location and size, and dispatch first responders. Fire authorities need a faster way to detect, confirm, and pinpoint fires so that they can quickly respond—preventing small flare-ups from becoming devastating infernos.

What you’ll do
  • Partner with customer success, sales, and operations teams to understand geospatial data needs
  • Use GIS software and existing site selection methodologies to identify suitable locations for remote camera deployments
  • Generate customized map layouts, web maps, applications, and data pipelines to support cross‑functional activities
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation tools in collaboration with data scientists, following software engineering best practices, including code reviews, pull requests, and version control with Git/Git Hub
  • Build and query Postgre

    SQL/PostGIS databases to support geospatial data workflows
  • Deliver training and technical support to internal users
  • Collaborate on special projects as needed
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Statistics, Math, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in data analysis, geospatial analysis, or similar roles
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with Git/Git Hub workflows (branching, pull requests, code reviews)
  • Excellent geospatial skills with experience in ArcGIS/ESRI or equivalent platforms
  • Strong mathematical background with attention to detail
  • Proactive, self‑motivated, and well‑organized
Nice to have
  • Experience with PostGIS or other spatial database extensions
  • Familiarity with ETL pipeline development
  • Experience with cloud‑based geospatial tools or data warehouses

The final salary offer depends on a variety of factors, including an individual’s job‑related qualifications, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
