We are looking for an entrepreneurial Senior / Staff Product Manager
, AI to work directly with our founder and CEO, Ajay Kulkarni, to define and execute how to evolve Postgres into the best database for building applications in the AI era.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a critical inflection point in software infrastructure for millions of developers. We’ve already made progress with pgai and pgvectorscale, and we’re now building the next generation of AI-native capabilities in Postgres.

We are looking for someone who has been a founder before and knows how to navigate ambiguity, go from 0→1, and create momentum where none exists. This role requires entrepreneurial instincts, technical fluency, and deep familiarity with building AI products.

This position is remote, but based in San Francisco / Bay Area to engage with the local AI and developer community.

• Define and drive Timescale’s AI product strategy in close partnership with the co‑founder and CEO.
• Lead 0→1 product development and take new ideas from inception through launch and adoption.
• Develop a deep understanding of our target users and their problems, the competitive landscape, and market trends.
• Build strong connections in the SF AI and developer community, representing Tiger Data and identifying opportunities for influence and growth.
• Develop and execute on strategic partnerships with AI companies and platforms.
• Work cross‑functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and go‑to‑market teams to deliver products and drive adoption.
• Define success metrics, run experiments, and iterate rapidly based on feedback.

• Former founder with a proven track record of creating and shipping products from 0→1→10.
• 5+ years of product leadership (PM or entrepreneurial), including 2+ years building AI products.
• Experience with databases or other technical products with high scale, high performance needs. Deep knowledge of modern distributed systems and the data infrastructure ecosystem.
• Based in San Francisco, with strong ties to the local AI and developer community.
• Technical background (CS degree or equivalent developer experience strongly preferred).
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with tactical execution.
• Excellent communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Entrepreneurial, decisive, and comfortable navigating uncertainty.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and problem‑solving skills.
