Job Summary

The Data Architect will be an integral member of the Digital Insights & Architecture team within Data Services. This is a highly technical and hands-on role with responsibility to lead design, implement and support data architecture deliverables for multiple data integration, data management, data warehousing, business intelligence and analytics projects.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling (relational and dimensional), data architecture and metadata management.
• 6+ years of experience with data modeling tools such as Embarcadero/Erwin/ER Studio or comparable toolsets.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases (DB2, Oracle etc.) and columnar databases (Vertica etc.).
• Extensive Hadoop / Big Data experience is a plus.
• Minimum requirement – need an overall understanding of Big Data.
• Experience in In-Memory New SQL, No
  
  SQL and Hadoop Hive/Sqoop/Scala/Spark.

Responsibilities

Able to deliver solid, extensible, highly-available data architecture model and environment that supports the current and future business and technical requirements. The candidate will demonstrate both business acumen and technological insight through data analysis, logical & physical data modeling, DDL review and consultation. Provide thought leadership and mentorship while evangelizing data architecture methodologies and best practices.

Continually strive to improve data/information systems through pragmatic recommendations of new paradigms and adoption of technologies that enable data discovery, scalable infrastructure and real-time analytics. Integral to these responsibilities will be an ability to balance and coordinate tactical hands-on development against strategic initiatives.

This position requires strong collaboration with data/solution architects, business/system analysts, DBA, product managers, business partners and development teams to define requirements and design appropriate analytical solutions in alignment with organization digital strategy.
