Heartflow is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the Heartflow FFR CT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart.
Heartflow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (Road Map™Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFR CT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heartcare.
Heartflow is a publicly traded company (HTFL) that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, and has been used for more than 750,000 patients worldwide.
About the RoleWe are building a new AWS foundation: new accounts, new Kubernetes clusters, and the supporting cloud services around them. Our existing applications run on AWS Lambda and Fargate, along with RDS, API Gateway, and related services, and are defined in AWS CDK. We are moving them onto the new platform.
You will join the Infrastructure Platform team, which owns three areas: cloud foundations, site reliability engineering (SRE), and developer experience. Your first big project will focus on the migration to Kubernetes. Over time the role broadens across these key areas of focus.
What You Will DoMigration (first project)
- Contribute to migration patterns and reference implementations for moving CDK-based serverless applications to EKS, while supporting cross-account interoperability during the migration window.
- Translate existing CDK stacks into Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, service templates, and developer portal integrations.
- Develop robust, scalable, and automated solutions for running event-driven, serverless-like workflows on Kubernetes, potentially utilizing technologies like KEDA or similar cloud-native tools.
- Plan data-tier and API cutovers that keep downtime and risk low.
- Work with application teams to understand their workloads, sequence their moves, and give them the tooling and documentation to migrate with little hand-holding.
- Benchmark migrated services, tune resource requests and limits, and confirm that observability and service-level objectives match or beat what they were before.
- Build and maintain cloud foundations: account structure, networking, IAM, and shared services, all as code.
- Contribute to SRE practices: SLOs, alerting, incident response, capacity and cost management, and an on-call rotation as the team matures.
- Improve developer experience through Harness pipelines, golden paths, and the Cortex service catalog, treating internal engineers as the platform's customers.
- Write standards, guardrails, and runbooks that other teams can follow without asking us.
- Support Linux and Windows systems where the platform requires them, with automation preferred over manual work.
- Several years of platform, infrastructure, SRE, or Dev Ops engineering, including at least one migration of production workloads to a new platform or architecture. Fargate or ECS to Kubernetes is the closest match; serverless to containers is also relevant.
- Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes on AWS (EKS): networking, security, scaling, and day-two operations.
- Solid AWS experience across compute (Lambda,…
