Senior Cloud Platform Engineer – AWS & Infrastructure Automation

Cogniify is hiring a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help designand build cloud-based products and services on AWS. This role helps define ourcloud platform, including automation tools and standards, CI/CD pipelines,Dev Ops tooling and AWS account provisioning automation, and works with application support teams to improve how applications are installed andconfigured on the platform.

You will own development end to end, from ideation through CI/CD,security scanning and production monitoring, lead major technical initiative sand act as a senior technical point of contact for projects. You will alsoserve as the subject matter expert for your platform capabilities and mentorjunior engineers. This is an individual contributor role with minimal travel.

• Help define the cloud platform,including automation tools and standards, CI/CD pipelines, Dev Ops tooling andAWS account provisioning automation.
• Work with application support teams to redefine how the platform interfaces with application installation and configuration.
• Solve complex technical problemscreatively, with a clear understanding of the key business processes the platform supports.
• Lead major mid-to-large initiatives andown development end to end, from ideation through CI/CD, security scanning and production monitoring.
• Improve processes, develop long-term technical strategies and act as the primary technical contact for projects and technical engagements.
• Communicate strategy across organizational levels, lead strategic initiatives and engage senior internal and external stakeholders on significant technical matters.
• Document infrastructure through architecture diagrams, runbooks and READMEs, and make sure work ismaintainable, performant and observable.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for high-impact issues, and make decisions on access, permissions and security controls.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned capabilities and mentor junior engineers.

• 9+ years of experience (7+ years with aMaster’s degree, or 11+ years with an Associate degree), including at least 7years of cloud infrastructure experience in highly available production environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field,or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A relevant technical certification may be required.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS, especiallyhosting services such as EC2, RDS, Systems Manager and IAM.
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure ascode, especially Terraform.
• Intermediate knowledge of cloud and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to communicate technicalstrategy clearly to stakeholders at every level of the organization.
