Special Investigations Unit; SIU - Field Investigator

Ethos is looking to hire a full time, experienced Insurance SIU / Claims Field Investigator in the San Francisco, CA area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for qualified candidates to join our growing team of professionals. We are looking for full-time employees who have the ability to work remotely, independently, and who enjoy a good challenge.

Applicants must have an extremely flexible work schedule. This is an industry-wide requirement as cases often require odd hours, to include early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and evening hours.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU/Claims) Field Investigator conducts recorded statements / interviews, accident scene investigations, online research, and witness canvassing. They recognize compensability issues, misrepresentation, and understanding insurance coverage as it pertains to claims decisions. They identify red flags and follow where the investigation leads them, doing their due diligence to conduct a thorough investigation.

• Previous SIU experience with an insurance carrier or investigative firm.
• Former military or law enforcement.
• Two years' experience in property loss investigations (or adjusting) to include theft, fire, water, wind and vandalism losses.

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• May require Notary.

A SIU / Claims investigator must possess strong computer and internet skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. They should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, listening skills and high attention to detail. They should also be persistent and organized.

The ideal candidate must own a well-maintained vehicle, a Windows-based laptop, cell phone, and have a good internet connection. In addition, they should own a camera, or comparable equipment to obtain photographs, and a recording device to obtain statements.
