About the job Gujarati Interpreter (San Francisco, CA)
This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities.
The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Assignments are based in San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay Area and are available on a regular basis, depending on the demand for specific languages and the interpreter's qualifications.
Qualifications- Fluency in both Gujarati and English
- Must be based in San Francisco or the San Francisco Bay Area
- Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical, legal, and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication
- Strong ability to interpret orally between Gujarati and English in both directions
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Skilled in meeting the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders
- Combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience
- Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination/immunization records and background checks, as necessary
- Possession of a valid California license
