Door Dash is hiring an experienced Senior Counsel to join our dynamic legal team at a very exciting time for our expanding business. You will join the Product Legal team that supports both merchant‑ and consumer‑facing products and initiatives for Marketplace, our core third‑party delivery platform. You’ll have a broad range of responsibilities and will own projects that drive an immediate impact.

You’ll provide guidance across a wide range of legal issues domestically and internationally, including consumer protection, competition, regulatory, and privacy. Your clients will include first‑in‑class product managers, operators, marketers, and engineers, among others. You’ll become an expert on our existing products and will partner with the business to problem‑solve and help shape the development of new products that power merchant growth and delight our consumers.

• Provide solution‑oriented advice and legal direction to a wide variety of teams from the initial stages of project development to launch.
• Collaborate with business partners to effectively manage legal risks related to product, operational, and engineering initiatives.
• Independently develop practical guidance on issues relating to consumer protection, competition, privacy, unfair and deceptive business practices, and marketing.
• Work closely with other members of the legal team—across commercial, litigation, corporate, employment, IP, and privacy—to ensure your business partners receive holistic and effective legal guidance across disciplines.
• Serve as cross‑functional connective tissue and help gain consensus across the non‑legal teams you work with.
• Build playbooks and establish processes to help scale our advice as a legal team.

• You have a business‑first mentality, strong legal judgment, and the ability to make decisions in an ambiguous and fast‑paced environment with imperfect information.
• You are skilled at managing a high volume of requests from a wide range of client teams and balancing competing priorities with limited direction.
• You understand complicated areas of law and apply them to a complex business.
• You are excited to work on products that incorporate AI and to leverage AI tools to enhance your work.

• You have 8+ years legal experience.
• You have prior experience at an in‑house legal department.
• You are authorized to practice law in the U.S. state where you are located.

• Previous product counseling experience.
• Experience in the tech industry or the on‑demand economy.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job‑related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market‑dependent and may be modified in the future.
