Responsibilities
We are actively recruiting judicial law clerks for an associate position with our dynamic Employment Litigation Group in any of its Northern California offices (
San Francisco, Sacramento and Silicon Valley
).
Responsibilities include:
working on pre-litigation matters, high‑profile single‑plaintiff employment cases, systemic discrimination and wage‑and‑hour class actions, and Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) representative actions; responding to administrative charges; counseling clients on a wide variety of employment issues; and taking an active role in handling cutting‑edge legal matters. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, creative, and practical, and should also have outstanding interpersonal skills, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
This position offers the opportunity to assume significant responsibility, work directly with corporate clients, manage complex cases, take and defend depositions, make court appearances at important hearings, argue motions, handle mediations, and other related work typically handled by mid‑level associates. Judicial clerks joining Orrick directly from a clerkship on a federal court or the highest court in any state or the District of Columbia receive a significant bonus, reflecting the value Orrick places on the clerkship experience.

- Must possess excellent academic credentials, and strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a judicial clerk for a minimum of one year. At least 2 years of additional litigation experience.
- A completed JD from an accredited law school required.
- Must be a member of the California State Bar.

Compensationand Benefits
The expected salary range for this position is between $260,000 and $310,000.
