Plant Intellectual Property Practice Group

The Morrison & Foerster Plant Intellectual Property Group is a cross‑disciplinary practice group handling a wide range of intellectual property issues related to plants and other agricultural products. The Group combines expertise in patent, licensing, corporate, trademark, and litigation fields.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent and plant variety applications.

• Contribute to prosecution strategy.

• Provide technical and legal research and analysis for matters pending before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

• Provide technical support for PTAB and litigation proceedings.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in plant biology or a closely related field.

• Outstanding writing and analytical skills; top academic credentials essential.

• USPTO registration not required.

The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.

Boston, MA;
San Francisco, CA; and Palo Alto, CA annual salary range: $105,000 to $135,000.
