Associate Material Controller – Jacobs

Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina (US – any location in the United States is acceptable)

Base Pay: $61,700.00 – $80,925.00 per year

Overview

As an Associate Material Controller for Advanced Manufacturing, you will manage materials for major capital equipment and materials under close supervision. You will perform field material control transactions, maintain material control documentation, and support project procurement and supply chain integration.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of material control processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
  • Review Shipment Release Requests and ensure approvals per purchase order.
  • Advise stakeholders on shipment release creation and overall authorization process.
  • Administer Material Receiving Reports, Material Issue Requests, and Over‑/Under‑Shipment/Damaged Reports.
  • Maintain a register of materials requiring preservation activities.
  • Evaluate material control issues, propose resolutions, and maintain documentation in a repository.
  • Identify and advise on material control risks.
  • Participate in OS&D resolution coordination.
  • Coordinate with project or departmental personnel on material control activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent project experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in capital equipment material control (advanced manufacturing projects preferred).
  • Experience with MS Office (intermediate to advanced Excel) and materials management or enterprise purchasing systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Team‑oriented and able to work onsite in Spartanburg, SC.
