Job Description:

Fleishman Hillard, a global communications agency, is seeking a dynamic Managing Supervisor to join our Technology team in NYC. This hybrid role is focused on supporting the firm’s technology sector across B2B and B2C tech clients. The position provides an opportunity for a communications professional with a background in tech communications to meaningfully contribute to communications strategy and campaigns, media relations, corporate positioning, business development and content creation on behalf of our industry-leading clients.

Working closely with account leadership and junior staff, the Managing Supervisor will oversee day-to-day execution of account activity to ensure deliverables and client expectations are met. Our clients will depend on you to be responsive, thoughtful and proactive with ideas, own and drive communications programs from concept through execution, delivering measurable results. You will also own and advance media relations efforts on behalf of these clients across top-tier business and trade outlets.

The ideal candidate is extremely organized, a self-starter who both initiates and executes, and demonstrates an ability to find synergies between multiple work streams. They bring creative instincts to open-ended challenges and precision execution to tightly scoped ones, switching between both modes fluidly. Experience in the telecommunications, managed IT services, and consumer tech industries are a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Build traditional and nontraditional media relations strategies, manage and execute campaigns and projects with a team, for our clients in the B2B and B2C technology sectors.
  • Identify and pursue proactive opportunities (story angles, rapid response opps, newsjacking moments, etc.) without waiting to be asked, bringing a clear point of view on how to capitalize.
  • Work with senior members of the team to help oversee projects, connect dots across our tech accounts, and provide client counsel.
  • Be flexible and facilitate teamwork within account team; coordinate team resources and create opportunities for junior staff to take on more responsibility.
  • Write and edit communications materials that capture relevant audiences and reflect an understanding of our clients’ businesses – ranging from internal to external documents, including pitches, plans, memos, research, written content, media materials,
  • Support in the implementation of strategic plans and communications campaigns across key stakeholders that are aligned with client business objectives and deliver results.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 6+ years of public relations agency experience, with an emphasis on technology and/or corporate communications, executive positioning and message development.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Strong media relations skills and knowledge of media trends and issues and strong understanding of media environment.
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized, with experience driving large initiatives and major projects from inception to completion
