Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week contract position at top-rated hospital systems in California, including the San Francisco and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. This position will provide critical support across multiple departments, ensuring high-quality patient care and a smooth clinical environment. The LPN will be responsible for performing routine nursing tasks, assisting with patient care, and supporting the nursing team with various departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians across various departments such as Med-Surg, ICU, Pediatrics, and Emergency Care.
- Administer medications and injections, including IV therapies, and monitor patient responses.
- Perform routine nursing procedures, including wound care, dressing changes, vital sign monitoring, and patient assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients' needs are met, and provide updates on patient status.
- Document patient information in the electronic health records (EHR) system accurately and promptly.
- Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and health management.
- Support nursing staff in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance.
- Provide care across all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, depending on department needs.
- Current LPN license in the state of California.
- IV Certification required (must be able to demonstrate competence in IV therapy).
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an LPN, preferably in hospital settings.
- Experience in multiple departments (Med-Surg, ICU, Emergency, etc.) preferred but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and hospital systems.
- Immediate availability for a 13-week contract with the potential for extension or future opportunities.
