Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Sequoia Living

We are hiring an LVN who provides direct and indirect resident care services that ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of residents. The role includes the performance of disease prevention and therapeutic measures. If you are excited about the opportunity to make a difference every day, this might be for you.

• Administer medications and treatments as directed; respond to emergencies and provide care.
• Direct Certified Nursing Assistants in performance of work.
• Maintain medical records as required.
• Provide direct care, reorder residents' medications, chart summaries, and other pertinent information; communicate status during shift change; check supplies and maintain equipment.
• Report all sudden changes to the physician immediately.
• Assist in planning resident care activities based upon the Service Plan.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary team.
• Function as shift Charge Nurse as assigned.

• $41 per hour.

• Enjoy working with people and have interpersonal skills.
• Use tact and courtesy in dealing with residents under trying conditions; show patience and understanding.
• Can handle a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and practice; sensitivity and understanding of issues related to aging; patience and tact in dealing with the elderly; judgment to recognize sudden changes regarding medical conditions; demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written English communication skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and lift at least 50 pounds continuously.
• Current valid California LVN license and Basic Life Support certification. Previous gerontological nursing experience desirable.
• May supervise CNAs in absence of RN or Nurse Manager.

• Skilled Nursing – Full Time
