Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with CA licensure for a night-shift role in a Trauma Level I intensive care unit requiring at least 3 years of ICU experience.

Details
  • ICU setting within a Trauma Level I hospital, including Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
  • Weekend rotation required, no on-call
  • Floating as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required
  • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • CCRN and TNCC certifications preferred
  • 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
  • Trauma Level I hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience and previous charge experience preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube assistance
  • Experience with CRRT/CVVHD, renal failure management, and IV insulin protocols
  • Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Experience with CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, EVD care, and post-neurosurgical management preferred
  • Cardiovascular skills including Swan-Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, TAVR, valve repair, and VAD management
  • ECMO and Flo Trac/Vigileo monitoring experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with multisystem organ dysfunction and infection prevention/isolation precautions
  • Phlebotomy skills required
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
  • 7-year work history verification required
Additional Information
  • Deliver critical care nursing to patients in Neuro and Surgical ICU settings
  • Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, with coverage expected for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
  • Compliance documents due 10 days prior to start
  • First-time travelers may be considered if all requirements are met
  • Former employees must have a 1-year separation period before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
