American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I trauma center requiring 3 years of ICU experience and a CA RN license.

• ICU setting within a Level I trauma hospital, including Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU work settings
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required with no on-call responsibilities
• Floating as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS required; CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required, 4 years preferred
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management required
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Experience managing CVA/acute stroke, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery patients
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administering continuous IV sedation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with IV insulin protocols
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Copy of all applicable certifications with valid expiration dates required
• Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including neuro and surgical ICU populations
• Manage complex cases involving multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and GI surgery support
• Support patients requiring renal replacement therapy (CVVHD/CRRT) and acute/chronic renal failure management
• Holiday coverage required for one of the following:
  New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered if all other requirements are met
