American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and at least 3 years of PACU experience at a teaching hospital.
Details- PACU unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Day shift, 5x8 hours with variable starts (6:00 AM-2:30 PM)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Ability to work in preop, PACU, and extended care units
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities and departments within a 75+ mile radius as needed
- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
- BSN required
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- CCRN or CPAN certification preferred
- 5 years of overall RN experience required, including 3 years of PACU experience
- 2 years of critical care experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
- Knowledge of airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management required
- Travel experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line care preferred
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
- Provide perianesthesia nursing care including pre-op and post-op recovery for a variety of surgical cases such as ENT, GI, GYN, ophthalmology, robotics, and urology procedures
- Perform patient monitoring, medication administration, and discharge education as part of recovery care
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and arterial line management is utilized in this role
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and none allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Travel pairs are allowed but typically will not be placed on the same unit
