American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior cardiac telemetry experience.

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius required

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Cardiac Telemetry and MS/Tele experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response protocols
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Wound care/wound vac experience
• Pacemaker and post-MI patient care experience preferred
• IV insulin protocol experience preferred
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care to telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Complete non-billable training modules during pre-start and annually via UC Learning website
• Must have full COVID-19 vaccination and booster, or proof of a scheduled booster appointment prior to start date
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full details for rehire eligibility review
• All requested RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
