American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and prior teaching hospital experience.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Cardiac telemetry patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Uses Epic EMR
• Float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required within the last 12 months
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, or scheduled booster appointment prior to start date

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response team coordination
• Skills include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management
• Respiratory care skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Additional clinical exposure may include CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, renal failure, and wound care management
• Charge experience and community hospital experience preferred
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to offer; no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
