You will collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve calibration issues, thereby minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance.
This role demands a meticulous approach to detail and a strong understanding of calibration techniques and standards to uphold the integrity of measurement systems. Ultimately, your work will support continuous improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Metrology, or a related technical field. Proven experience in calibration of industrial instruments and equipment, preferably in a manufacturing or laboratory environment. Strong knowledge of calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant industry regulations. Proficiency in using calibration tools, measurement devices, and software for data logging and analysis. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple calibration tasks and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Calibration Technician (e.g., from the American Society for Quality or equivalent).
Experience with automated calibration systems and advanced metrology equipment. Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications related to instrumentation. Strong problem-solving skills and experience in process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities:
Perform routine and non-routine calibration of a wide range of instruments and equipment according to established procedures and standards. Maintain detailed and accurate calibration records, documentation, and reports to ensure traceability and compliance with regulatory requirements. Identify, diagnose, and resolve calibration discrepancies or equipment malfunctions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Develop and update calibration procedures and schedules to align with industry best practices and company policies.
Train and support other staff members on proper calibration techniques and the importance of measurement accuracy.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Calibration Specialist to accurately perform and document calibrations, ensuring all instruments meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for managing calibration schedules and maintaining comprehensive records that support traceability and audits. Technical proficiency with calibration tools and software facilitates efficient data collection and analysis, which is critical for identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
Preferred skills such as certification and familiarity with automated systems enhance the specialist's ability to work with complex equipment and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
