• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in AI research and development, including in generative AI.
• Experience in Python and machine learning frameworks (e.g., Jax, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
• One or more accepted scientific publication submissions for conferences, journals, or public repositories (such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.).

Experience with geospatial data (e.g., satellite imagery, GIS).

• Experience in large‑scale training of multimodal generative models.
• Experience in building multi‑agent systems.
• Understanding of large language models (LLMs) and their application to agentic systems.
• Ability to lead a research project from conception to a successful outcome.

AI is an exciting effort to build and bring together various powerful geospatial AI models with Gemini’s agentic reasoning to help people, businesses and organizations address the planet’s most critical needs. Earth AI expands on our recent Geospatial Reasoning effort and includes models that address multiple areas. This includes models to help improve urban planning and public health by providing a rich understanding of earth imagery, population dynamics and urban mobility.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $141,000‑$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
