We operate our primary lab in the Peninsula and we’re in the process of getting access to additional access to world‑class chemistry facilities in the East Bay.

We’re seeking a scientist with deep expertise in nucleic acid analog synthesis and assay development to join our R&D team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our founding team to develop and optimize our cellular assays. You will design and optimize the synthesis of nucleic acid analogs, characterize the synthetic output, and assist in the evaluation of reagent efficacy. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role at the earliest stage of the company;
perfect for someone excited to shape the future of fertility and reproductive health. PhD (or equivalent experience) in organic chemistry, biomolecular chemistry, chemical biology, nucleic acid chemistry, or closely related field required.
- Extensive, hands‑on experience with synthetic nucleic acid or peptide chemistry
- Experience with PNA OR a closely related polymer synthesis workflows and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of nucleotide or nucleic acid binding principles: hybridization thermodynamics, mismatch discrimination, duplex stability, etc.
- Proficiency in peptide and nucleic acid purification and characterization via HPLC, LC‑MS, etc
- Ability to design and interpret in‑vitro / in‑silico binding or stability assays
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excited to work in a dynamic, early‑stage startup atmosphere
- Motivated, independent, and excited to help build new technology
- Comfort working across multiple lab sites/campuses
- Experience with in vivo or cellular assays involving nucleic acid probes
- Knowledge of alternative nucleic acid backbone chemistries (e.g., morpholino, modified RNAs)
- Prior startup or technology development experience
This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. Relocation stipend available.
- Salary Range: $100,000–$140,000, depending on experience
