Revolution Medicines is seeking a scientifically talented individual to join our world-class Discovery Research organization as a Scientist I, Medicinal Chemistry. This individual contributor role will work as a key member of an integrated, multidisciplinary drug discovery team making significant contributions toward the discovery of important new drug candidates.

• Design and synthesis of biologically active compounds to support SAR:
  • Analysis of biological data.
  • SBDD based design of analogs.
  • Planning and execution of the synthetic routes, synthesis purification of final targets.
• Recommend alternative synthetic routes, research new methods and techniques, and proactively seek out others to identify solutions to challenges.
• Present research findings to the Medicinal Chemistry team and management.
• Partner in the scientific activities of other outstanding medical chemists and cross functional team members and create an environment where all ideas are shared.
• Collaboration with external teams, CROs (contract research organizations).

• D. with a background in synthetic organic chemistry and 0-3 years of postdoctoral or relevant pharma/biotech industry experience.
• Strong understanding of synthetic organic and medicinal chemistry.
• Experience with NMR, HPLC, and Mass Spectrometry techniques.
• Familiar with modern synthetic, organic chemistry techniques and instrumentation.
• Well versed in synthetic methodologies and can independently design and execute synthetic procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with interdepartmental teams.
• Ability to multi-task, be efficient and well-organized, and work collaboratively as a team player with high energy in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated experience in the total synthesis of complex molecules, including multistep route design, synthetic problem-solving, and stereochemical control.
• Experience in beyond Rule-of-Five (bRo5) small-molecule drug discovery.
• Experience in oncology drug discovery research.

The base pay salary range for this full-time position for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA is listed below.
