Sales Engineer, Technical Sales
Join to apply for the Solutions Engineer, Enterprise role at Metronome
.
Metronome is the leading usage‑based billing platform built for modern software companies. Our platform computes millions of invoices per billing period and scales rapidly to accommodate new customers, saving them hours of development time and manual invoicing. Clients include OpenAI, Databricks, NVIDIA, Confluent, and Anthropic.
Our founders and employees bring experience from Dropbox, Clever, New Relic, and other high‑growth technology companies. We’ve raised over $128M from leading investors such as NEA, Andreessen Horowitz, and General Catalyst.
About the RoleThe Solution Engineering team sits at the intersection of sales, growth, product, and R&D. As a member, you’ll own the technical side of the customer lifecycle—discoveries, demos, POCs, technical scoping, and hand‑off to post‑sales groups. You will be responsible for bringing on new enterprise customers and achieving the technical win for large deals.
What You’ll Do- Use discovery conversations to understand prospects’ challenges in billing, product launch, pricing & packaging, quote‑to‑cash, and customer experience.
- Tell a clear value story about how Metronome solves those challenges and creates opportunities.
- Plan, build, and run customized demos for buyers across personas—including engineering, product management, operations, and finance.
- Build relationships from day‑to‑day operators up to C‑Suite executives, meeting in person whenever possible.
- Design integrations of Metronome into prospect systems and consultatively influence pricing and packaging decisions.
- Run tight Proofs of Concept with defined success criteria to secure the technical win.
- Ensure a proper handoff to our post‑sales Professional Services, Solutions Architecture, and Growth teams.
All engagements involve prospects at the scale of our strategic customers (Confluent, Databricks, OpenAI, Anthropic). Expect these to be complex, deep, technical, and most of all interesting. Metronome directly influences how the internet monetizes—AI is a prime example—and our group drives this influence on the front lines.
