Computational Scientist

Responsibilities and Duties

• Drive molecular tool design and advance display technologies
• Spearhead innovation in discovery and delivery of new molecular modalities
• Provide expertise within Molecular Biology and establish various expression strategies for any protein of interest
• Contribute to new target discovery with both technological expertise and scientific insights
• Function as department representative in evaluating and establishing external collaborations
• Build and maintain strong network with internal and external collaborators and stakeholders

Required Qualifications and Skills

• M.Sc/Ph.D in Computer Science, Statistics, Cheminformatics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Disease Biology or a related discipline
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• 5+ years experience in complex algorithm development
• Sound knowledge of statistics, data analytics, and data visualization
• Strong coding skills in at least one high-level programming language (Python, R, Java, C++, etc)
• Strong familiarity with Linux command-line environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in implementing and applying machine learning algorithms
• Experience working with scalable algorithms utilizing large amounts of data
• Understanding the fundamentals of biomolecular interactions
• Molecular modeling experience in one or more of the following: virtual screening, pharmacophore modeling, QSAR, docking, structure or ligand-based modeling
• Experience with cloud computing environments (AWS/Azure/GCE)
• Experience with relational databases and/or No
  
  SQL databases
