Marine Service Technician – San Francisco

Mackay currently has an opening for an experienced
Marine Service Technician (MST) with the skills and qualifications below in our San Francisco, CA depot.

Under limited supervision, the Marine Service Technician (MST) will install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board ships. Test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas, as well as, loading, updating, and modifying software. MSTs utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and circuitry to address a variety of technical problems in addition to making intelligent use of complex schematics, blueprints, and manuals to accurately achieve assignments.

Upon completion of the job, the Marine Service Technician will compose a detailed service report.

Marine Service Technician

Qualifications:

• 3+ Years of experience as a Marine Electronics Technician in the commercial shipping industry or acquired in the Navy, Coast Guard, or Marines.
• Associate Degree or equivalent education, training, and experience.
• Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
• Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred
• Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders and masts, and exposure to weather.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required.
• Must be available to work weekends if needed.
