Job Summary

The Heavy Duty Repair Mechanic is responsible for safely maintaining and fueling our equipment fleet. This role involves performing a variety of tasks, including repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment is ready and well maintained at the end of each day.

Typical Duties

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment related to operations, including Power Train, Electrical, Hydraulic, Engines, Air Systems, Ground Engaging Tools, Welding, and Metals.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and effective work area.
  • Fabricate items used in the field as related to operations.
  • Perform and document 500-hour preventative maintenance repairs.
  • Report unsafe practices and equipment abuses.
  • Identify potential problems before they worsen.
  • Suggest improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Communicate openly with field personnel.
  • Assess equipment safety;
    Red Tag if necessary and inform the Resource Manager.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and practice safe driving.
  • Conduct safety inspections and document findings.
  • Accurately record labor, material costs, and repair details.
  • Estimate downtime and materials needed for repairs.
  • Decide on repairs vs. replacements based on sound judgment.
  • Share knowledge to enhance team skills.
  • Plan work efficiently, utilizing time and resources effectively.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Participate actively in safety programs.
  • Qualifications

    - High School diploma or GED preferred; knowledge of small tools.

    - Ability to converse in English.

    - Apply common sense to carry out instructions and handle variables.

    - Valid CA driver’s license with a clean record.

    Compensation

    $50-$53 per hour, based on skills, experience, and knowledge.
