About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join our Growth product group, where you’ll build user-facing features that help more people discover, engage with, and return to Hinge. This team focuses on key moments in the user journey—from onboarding and activation to encouraging deeper usage and long-term retention.

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you’ll work on projects aimed at helping new users get started successfully, re-engaging those who’ve taken a break, and showcasing the value of premium features. Your work will directly shape how people experience Hinge and contribute to both user satisfaction and product growth.

You’ll collaborate closely with engineers across platforms, product managers, designers, data scientists, and backend teams to identify high-impact opportunities, run experiments, and ship high-quality, performant mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Best Practices:
Champion best practices and team principles that enhance collaboration and elevate the success of the iOS team.

• Feature Development:
Design, develop, and refine features that enhance the functionality and user experience of our iOS application.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.

• Apple Ecosystem Expertise:
Stay current with the latest Apple platform updates, leveraging new capabilities to drive innovation within the app.

• Reliability & Issue Resolution:
Monitor, diagnose, and address production crashes and customer-reported issues to ensure a smooth user experience.

• Architecture & Scalability:
Maintain and evolve a scalable, extensible, and efficient application architecture to support future growth.

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in Swift & UIKit:
In-depth knowledge of Swift, UIKit, and iOS app development

• App Architecture:
Familiarity with client application and systems architecture patterns like VIPER, MVVM, and MVP.

• Feature Development:
Experience building and maintaining apps with comprehensive feature sets and rich user interfaces.

• Production Support:
Prior experience operating and troubleshooting production apps.

• Problem-Solving & Organization: A structured thinker with strong attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture.

• Swift

UI & Concurrency:

Experience with Swift

UI and Swift Concurrency is a plus.

• CI/CD & Deployment:
Familiarity with Github Actions, Circle

CI, Fastlane, and Test Flight is a plus.

• In-App Purchases:

Experience with in-app purchases is a plus.

$ 177,500 – $215,000 a year

Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
