Senior Web and Mobile Software Developer

Join the University of California, San Francisco as a Senior Web and Mobile Software Developer and help build advanced, AI‑augmented applications across web, mobile and cloud platforms.

Job Summary

The role is within Central IT. It focuses on designing, developing and maintaining modern web and mobile applications, integrating AI‑driven capabilities, and collaborating with business users and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging, web and mobile‑first user interfaces optimized for performance, accessibility and user experience across diverse devices and platforms.

• Implement, test and deploy high‑quality web and mobile applications, integrating AI‑powered or data‑driven components (e.g., intelligent search, personalization or automation) where appropriate.

• Build self‑contained, reusable, and testable modules to support scalability, maintainability and efficient collaboration within cross‑functional development teams.

• Collaborate with stakeholders—colleagues, project managers and end users—to review business requirements, analyze workflows and propose innovative, AI‑augmented solutions.

• Develop interactive wireframes, prototypes and detailed design documentation, leveraging AI‑assisted design tools to accelerate and enhance the creative process.

• Ensure timely, reliable and high‑quality delivery of all project deliverables while continuously improving performance through automation, analytics and feedback loops.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 5+ years of experience developing applications for web and mobile platforms.

• 3+ years of experience developing hybrid and cross‑platform mobile applications for Android and iOS using React Native, Next.js and modern frameworks such as Flutter or Ionic.

• 3+ years of experience developing responsive and dynamic web front‑end applications using modern frameworks and technologies such as React, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js and Tailwind CSS.

• 3+ years of experience with Azure, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Dev Ops pipelines and cloud‑native tools.

• Deep knowledge of Android and iOS platforms.

• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect iOS and Android applications to back‑end services.

• Experience in creating rapid UI prototype for Android and iOS using Figma or other prototyping tools.

• Deep understanding of mobile application security best practices.

• Experience with SSO integration and API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger and Insomnia, with familiarity in OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect standards.

• Strong object‑oriented design, programming and complex problem‑solving skills.

• Proficient use of Git.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey technical information to technical and non‑technical personnel.

• Self‑motivated and works independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and integrating Salesforce Mobile SDK and Service Cloud solutions.

• Excellent project leadership and management skills.

• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

• Experience with Mule Soft.

Salary and Benefits

Annual salary range: $132,000 – $197,900.
