Who We Need

We're looking for an experienced frontend engineer to shape the user experience of Rillet's industry-defining accounting and finance software. This is a remote-first role with the option to work from one of our office hubs in New York City, San Francisco, or Barcelona.

What You'll Do

• Lead technical decisions for frontend architecture, driving discussions around component design, state management, and performance optimization

• Shape Rillet's frontend technical strategy and roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation in user experience and interface scalability

• Partner with product managers, designers, and finance experts to influence product direction, advocating for user experience and balancing design vision with technical feasibility

• Drive customer research initiatives, translating user feedback into frontend requirements and championing accessibility and usability in engineering decisions

• Establish and champion continuous delivery practices for frontend deployments, mentoring team members on deployment strategies and ensuring reliable, frequent releases

• Lead by example in test‑driven development and automation, building robust testing frameworks for UI components and fostering a quality‑first culture

• Own frontend performance and user experience excellence, implementing monitoring solutions, optimizing bundle sizes and load times, and ensuring exceptional interface responsiveness

• Mentor frontend engineers on the team, conducting code reviews, and raising the technical bar across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, including a proven track record leading large-scale frontend projects and architecting component systems

• Strong proficiency in Type Script and modern frontend frameworks

• Expertise in responsive design, CSS architecture (CSS‑in‑JS, Tailwind, CSS Modules), cross-browser compatibility, and frontend performance optimization

• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), modern web APIs, and experience working with RESTful APIs or GraphQL

• Ability to find practical solutions to real user problems while thriving both independently and collaboratively within a small team, with a passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing
