Responsibilities

• Build Sesame’s standalone companion app — the foundation for a new consumer product category — on a team that highly values craft and quality.

• Work with multiple teams across engineering, design, and product to ship complex projects that delight users.

• Help build the iOS team at Sesame by providing leadership on best practices and modern iOS app design.

• Work together with other iOS, Android, and web engineers to define the mobile and web strategy for Sesame going forward.

Required Qualifications

• Strong intuition and deeply considered opinions about iOS app design and aesthetics, evidenced by a portfolio of beautiful, useful apps you created or were deeply involved in.

• Experienced in shipping great products and motivated by understanding what makes users tick and how to delight them.

• Passionate about the complex engineering involved in building lightning-fast, ergonomic, and innovative iOS UI.

• Expert in eliminating latency in complex iOS apps; nothing will get in the way of reducing interaction latency.

• Up-to-date on the latest iOS UI/UX design patterns; aware of the Apple release cycle and how features can help the team.

• Hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle of iOS apps: build trains, test strategy, and modern UI architecture patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time communications (WebRTC, Websockets, audio/video codecs, etc.).

• Expertise in managing battery drain in complex applications (media or graphics-intensive).

• Experience integrating BLE peripherals on iOS.

• Metal or other graphics/shader experience.

• Contributions to open-source iOS projects or a strong personal portfolio of iOS apps.

• Experience building AI consumer products.
