We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to guide and enable our technical teams in planning, executing, and delivering these products.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a steward of results and deliver outcomes, leveraging an expansive breadth of ownership for the priorities of both our teams and customers, and balancing competing needs and tradeoffs.

• Oversee and lead implementation, supporting your team in executing against the technical vision, scoping projects, and reviewing plans to achieve our collective vision.

• Manage technical teams, lead efficient, motivated teams, experiment with team systems, and collaborate with product, leadership, and engineering to build Candid’s flagship products.

• Mentor and grow people, defining pathways for your team’s development through formal performance management and organic opportunities.

• Partner with company and product leadership to understand and contribute to critical product and company strategy, designing systems, architecture, and processes to hit short‑term and long‑term objectives.

Responsibilities

• Owning engineering practice and building critical services and features.

• Leading teams through planning, prioritization, tracking, and delivery of impactful results.

• Supporting teams in achieving high technical quality, reliability, and developer satisfaction.

• Influencing partners and peers to identify obstacles to delivery, improving products, and eliminating friction.

• Making data‑driven decisions to improve reliability, performance, scale, and reduce operational load.

• Diving deep into software architecture to achieve business objectives.

• Recruiting exceptional engineers and managers.

• Mentoring and coaching direct reports and peers to build healthy, high‑performing teams.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, or related field.

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Leader (technical lead, manager, or manager of managers).

• Track record of shipping high‑quality features in strategic product areas and executing ambitious roadmaps.

• Excellent technical decision‑making skills, with proven architecture and pattern expertise.

• Strong management across multiple directions, including lateral and upward advocacy.

• Experience interviewing, hiring, and mentoring product‑focused engineering teams, with strong collaboration with staffing partners.

• Clear, concise communicator who explains complicated ideas simply, both in‑person and in writing.

Pay Transparency

The estimated starting annual base salary range for this position is $220,000 to $322,000 USD. Total compensation may also include equity, sales incentives, and employee benefits. The range is a guideline based on Pave data and may be modified based on qualifications, experience, interview performance, and market data.
