Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Unreal Engine Tooling Developer to help evolve an existing prototype into a production‑ready AI agent system built within Unreal Engine.
This is a tooling‑focused engineering role
, not game development. The work centers on Unreal Engine editor extensibility, plugin development, and engine‑level customization
, with deep integration of AI agent workflows and external web‑based systems.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer comfortable working close to Unreal Engine source code
, designing scalable editor tools, and shaping architecture for long‑term extensibility.
- Develop and productize an AI agent framework within Unreal Engine
- Refactor and harden an existing prototype into a scalable product
- Build custom Unreal Editor tools and plugins
- Integrate Unreal Engine with web‑based services via messaging and server communication
- Ensure SDK and framework compatibility for future expansion
- Rewrite and product ionize an existing Unreal Engine prototype
- Design and implement Unreal Engine editor tools and plugins
- Extend Unreal Engine editor functionality via custom tooling
- Integrate web server messaging with Unreal Engine through plugins
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless Unreal Engine workflows
- Validate and maintain compatibility with evolving frameworks and SDKs
- Leverage AI SDKs to support agent‑based workflows
- Provide architectural input focused on scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Strong expertise in Unreal Engine tooling and plugin development
- Hands‑on experience working with Unreal Engine source code
- Deep understanding of Unreal Editor extensibility (Slate, editor modules, utilities)
- Proven ability to refactor prototypes into production‑grade systems
- Excellent English communication skills
- Ability to maintain minimum 4 hours overlap with EST
- Experience with AI agents and AI SDKs (LLMs, planners, orchestration frameworks)
- Familiarity with Multi‑Agent Control Protocols (MCPs)
- Web stack knowledge, including APIs, messaging systems, and client‑server communication
- Experience designing modular, extensible frameworks within Unreal Engine
- Contract Duration: Minimum 3 months (extension likely)
- Commitment: Part‑time initially, potential transition to full‑time
- Compensation: Flexible / open for the right candidate
