About Us

Surreal helps the most notable figures in the world protect and license their AI likeness. We’re founded by folks who have 30+ Emmy nominations, backed by Open AI & Quiet Capital, and have already signed up household names (think folks with over 100 million followers). We’re looking for strong technical builders to join our founding team.

As the Founding AI Engineer #2, you will play a critical role in shaping our tech stack and engineering culture by working closely with the founders. Some of the problems you will be working on are:

• Use generative AI technologies to process and classify large volumes of data.
• Build and deploy autonomous agents to scale critical workflows.
• Fine-tune multimodal models to improve accuracy and reliability of our systems.

We are hiring in-person in SF bay area.

• Zero to One
  :
  Build core products from the ground up and set foundations to scale them.
• Ownership
  :
  Take full ownership of products from ideation through development and into production, iterating based on customer feedback.
• Learning: Stay current with the latest generative AI advancements and explore innovative ways to leverage them into our products.

• Experience
  :
  You have 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Systems
  :
  You have a deep understanding of large scale systems with experience building data pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, cutting edge databases and standard deployment practices.
• Generative AI
  :
  You have been hands‑on with generative AI, experimenting, testing, and creatively solving real-world problems with it.
• Bonus
  :
  You are a previous startup founder or founding engineer.
