A healthcare AI company is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build the infrastructure behind its conversational products. The challenge goes well beyond connecting an app to a language model: transcription, reasoning, speech generation and playback all have to run together, in real time, reliably.

Location:

San Francisco, California. Hybrid Stack:
Python, asynchronous services, streaming systems, PostgreSQL, Redis What you will do Build Python services and APIs.Integrate speech and language model providers.

Improve streaming performance and manage conversational state.

Strengthen observability, and build infrastructure that makes components easy to change without disrupting the service.

What you will bring

Four or more years of production backend experience.

Strong Python and hands-on experience with asynchronous or real-time systems.

Web Sockets, WebRTC or streaming gRPC experience is particularly relevant.

Cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.

Healthcare, telephony or regulated-industry experience is a bonus.
