With the launch of Hinge Select, we’re taking the next big step: integrating digital and in-person care for improved outcomes and a better member experience. We are also improving our processes around ingesting and handling member data with focus on security, observability and traceability.

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer who is passionate about creating exceptional user experiences using Golang, gRPC based micro-services. As a member of the Accounts team, you will help build and shape new improved experiences with impact across the whole company. A resilient and scalable Accounts system ensures both stability and helps with growth of our member base. This role has a strong focus on user identity and account management — registration, authentication, authorization, and identity provider integrations — so hands-on experience with identity management platforms (e.g., Auth0, Okta) and IAM concepts (SSO, OIDC, SAML, MFA/passwordless auth) is highly valued.

You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build scalable, performant, and accessible applications.

Backend engineers at Hinge Health contribute to their team’s success by architecting and implementing end-to-end solutions, well-tested performant APIs and data models. In addition, candidates will profile their systems to stay out ahead of scaling bottlenecks, and help maintain a high bar with thoughtful and constructive code reviews.

We enjoy a continuous deployment Dev Ops culture, and take owner-operator pride in supporting our code in production. Our production systems rely on Golang, gRPC, AWS, Postgres, Redis, and temporal. Our workflow is trunk-based CI/CD, and our security/compliance posture is at the highest standards of healthcare, including HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and CCPA.What You’ll Accomplish Deliver large projects that introduce new product capabilities, often acting as a maintainer for key code repositories.

Design, build, and operate identity and account management systems — member registration and sign-in workflows, OTP/MFA verification, social login, account linking, and identity provider (e.g., Auth0) integrations.

Break down complex problems into manageable tasks, ensuring steady and predictable delivery while identifying and resolving root causes of incidents.

Collaborate with your team to roadmap and execute ambitious technical strategies, balancing short-term and long-term trade-offs.

Mentor and support junior engineers, providing thoughtful code reviews and real-time pairing.

Integrate and leverage AI technologies to automate processes and enhance product features, contributing to Hinge Health’s AI-driven care platform.

Proactively improve the maintainability, availability, and performance of the team’s features, and contribute to the team’s overall architecture and developer tooling.
