Position:
Middle School Coach
Season:
November 17, 2025 through mid February 2026. (2-3 weekday afternoon practices; plus games on weekday afternoons, evenings and/or weekends)
All head coaches and assistant coaches report to the Athletic Director and are responsible for administering all levels of their sport. The successful candidate will follow the procedures of the school’s athletic program, as well as those of the International and California Interscholastic Federation.
CommunicationCoaches will provide clear communication for student-athletes and families regarding expectations and philosophy. In case of conflict, coaches will be available to help seek resolution at a time that is not immediately before or after a contest.
Player DevelopmentCoaches will support the total development of student-athletes by using positive methods to create an optimal learning environment, helping them through their life journey, not just their athletic journey. Coaches will create and implement meaningful practice structures to enhance instruction, development and the effective use of time for all team members.
Player EvaluationCoaches will evaluate student-athletes using a holistic approach that includes skill, character, integrity, leadership, coachability and a love for the sport. Skill alone will not supersede the school’s Core Principles. A student-driven mid- and post-season review will be shared with student-athletes.
Team LeadershipCoaches will foster positive leadership qualities on and off the field. They will select team Captains and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members based on character and leadership ability, not athletic performance or status.
