Summer Camp at the JCCSF offers one-week to three-week sessions in both the traditional day camp and specialty camp settings for campers in grades K-10. Sports Camp is in session June 1
-August 21. Our classic day camps feature arts & crafts, STEAM projects, and sports. Specialty camps include visual arts, nature exploration, musical theater, science and more.
The Sports Specialist will create, organize, and implement multiple 1-week sessions of camp for up to 12 weeks. The camps that the Sports Specialist will be responsible for are Game Days, Basketball, Flag Football, Olympic Games, Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball. Sports Camp is offered for campers in grades 1-5. Campers will be introduced to the world of all things sports and hone their skills through hands-on experience.
The ideal candidate should have strong classroom management skills and must be able to implement a well-rounded sports curriculum for youth ages 6- 11.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Be the primary role model for a group of campers, grades K through 5
- Create a safe, supportive environment for campers
- Plan, organize and supervise fun and stimulating activities
- Help lead excursions while ensuring campers's safety
- Set clear, consistent limits and resolve behavioral challenges with help from supervisors
- Take on additional responsibilities as required
- At least 1 year as an educator
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
- Passions for sports, informal education and youth programs.
- Knowledge of summer camps preferred.
- Ability to work well both in a team environment and independently.
- Must have enthusiasm, flexibility, and ability to improvise a must.
Will be working directly with youth ages 5-13. Camps will take place on-site at the JCC and have designated camp rooms. We will utilize the Gym at the JCC as well as local sports fields and parks.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTSPosition requires seated or standing use of a computer throughout the day.
HOURS- Up to 10 hours of prep work per week in May (5/1/2026 - 5/31/2026)
- 37.5 hours per week (6/1/2026 – 8/21/2026)
- Summer Direct Service
Hours:
June 8, 2026 – August 21, 2026.- 8:15am – 4:15pm, Monday – Friday
