Theroleworkscloselywith Accounting,Payroll,Human Resources,and Operationstoidentifydiscrepancies,improve processes,strengthenfinancialcontrols,andsupportaccuratereporting.

Thepositionalsosupportsbroaderaccountinginitiatives,monthendcloseactivities,andprocessimprovements.

• Prepareandreconcilepayrollrelatedgeneralledgeraccounts,includingwages,payroll taxes,benefits,deductions,union contributions,andpayrollliabilities.
• Prepareandreviewpayrolljournalentries,accruals,andsupportingdocumentation.
• Researchandresolvediscrepanciesbetweenpayrollrecords,generalledgeraccounts,andfinancialreports.
• Supportmonthendandyearendclosingactivities.
• Assistwithfinancialreportingandotheraccountingresponsibilitiesasneeded.

• Reviewlaborcostallocationsandreconcilepayrollexpensestojobcostrecords.
• Identifyandresolvediscrepanciesrelatedtolaborcostingandpayrollexpenses.
• Partner with Accounting and Operationstoimprovelaborcostreportingandaccuracy .
• Supportanalysisoflaborrelatedfinancialdata.

• Reviewandstrengtheninternalcontrolsrelatedtopayrollaccounting.
• Supportinternalandexternalaudits,includingpreparationofreconciliationsandsupportingdocumentation.
• Reconcilepayrolltaxliabilities,benefit deductions,andunioncontributionsincoordinationwith
  
  Payroll.
• Identifyfinancialrisks,reportingdiscrepancies,andopportunitiestoimproveaccountingprocedures.

• Evaluatepayrollaccountingprocessesandrecommendimprovementstoaccuracy,efficiency,and reporting.
• Identifyopportunitiestoreducemanualworkandimprovereconciliations.
• Supportpayrollandaccountingsystemimprovements,integrations,andreportingenhancements.
• Developandmaintaindocumentedaccountingproceduresandinternalcontrols.

• Serveasanaccountingliaisonbetween Payroll and Accounting .
• Workcloselywith Payrolltoinvestigateandresolveaccountingdiscrepancies.
• Partner with Human Resourcesonbenefitrelatedreconciliationsandotherpayrollaccountingmatters .
• Support Accountingleadershipwithspecialprojects,financial analysis,andadditionalaccountingresponsibilities.

• Bachelor'sdegreein
  
  Accounting,Finance,orarelatedfield.
• 5+yearsofprogressiveaccountingexperience,includinggeneralledgerreconciliationsandfinancialreporting.
• PublicaccountingorCPAfirmexperiencepreferred.
• Constructionaccountingandlaborcostaccountingexperiencepreferred.
• Knowledgeofpayrollaccounting,payrollliabilities,andinternalcontrols.
• Strong Excelskillsandexperiencewithaccountingsoftware.
• Sage
  300experienceisaplus.
• Strong analytical,problem solving,organizational,andcommunicationskills.
• Abilitytoworkindependently,investigate discrepancies,andrecommendprocessimprovements.
• CPAcertificationpreferredbutnotrequired.
