Overview
Cost Manager role at Rudolph and Sletten, a Tutor Perini Company, based in San Jose, CA. Salary range: $135,000 - $180,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities- Perform quantity surveying for self-performed and subcontractor work
- Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations and distribute bid documents, understanding respective scopes of work
- Assist in preparing bidding documents for smaller projects or specific phases
- Assist in preliminary budgets and final bid estimates for smaller projects or specific phases
- Relate actual field cost to estimated costs
- Maintain a daily project diary and cost reports to provide productivity information
- Understand Rudolph & Sletten safety program and its relation to the estimate
- Assist in writing subcontracts – Exhibit A’s, SCO’s and PCO’s
- Maintain relationships and resolve disputes with subcontractors
- Manage the Change Order program
- Monitor contract and estimate discrepancies and take appropriate action
- Prepare cost-to-complete estimates
- Monitor back charges and logs
- Review payments to suppliers and subcontractors
- Coordinate pricing of changes
- Assist in negotiating changes with subcontractors and owner representatives
- Monitor the construction schedule and participate in schedule meetings
- Develop cash flow projections
- Identify and administer accounts for T&M work
- Prepare insurance claims in coordination with the Safety Engineer
- Communicate job status to management regularly
- Maintain communication with subcontractors and suppliers and use conflict mediation to resolve issues
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred; education plus experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field or related area
- Proven jobsite knowledge and performance
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Advanced working knowledge of Procore software
- Scheduling knowledge of Sure Trak and Primavera preferred
- Ability to work independently within a strong team environment
- Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- JDEdwards experience preferred but not required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
