Join East Side Union High School District as a Music Designer for the Marching Band at Santa Teresa High School. This role involves composing, arranging, and producing music for marching band performances while supporting students and collaborating with the credentialed teacher.
Job SummaryThe District seeks a skilled and passionate composer/arranger to write music for one or more of the district's high school Marching Band (and/or Winter Percussion) programs. Throughout the production, the coach will work alongside the credentialed teacher at District High School, supporting students of varying skill levels. This role includes design, rehearsal preparation, instruction, and performance support at one or more school sites, contributing to a high-quality production for a diverse student body.
Responsibilities- Designer of the music for the season‑specific production
- Attend and assist the director at rehearsals as scheduled
- Attend performances as scheduled with the director
- Stay advised on the director's goals and agendas regarding timelines/deadlines for materials to be produced and/or learned by the students
- Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment
- Season tied to a specific season or production:
Marching Band = One season/production;
Winter Percussion = One season/production
- Experience with music composition, transcription and/or arranging for Marching Band and/or Winter Percussion
- Experience teaching high school-aged students
- Experience teaching small and large group instruction
