Full Time Pediatric Ophthalmologist and Full Time Oculoplastic Surgeon – Santa Clara Valley Healthcare

Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), a large public teaching healthcare system affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking a full‑time BC/BE Pediatric Ophthalmologist and a fellowship‑trained Oculoplastic Surgeon to join our dynamic practice in the Department of Surgery.

About Our Organization

SCVH is the second‑largest county‑owned health and hospital system in California and is committed to improving the health of the 1.9 million people of Santa Clara County. The system includes four hospitals:
Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (731‑bed central hospital), O’Connor Hospital (358 licensed beds), Saint Louise Regional Hospital (93 licensed beds) and Regional Medical Center (258 licensed beds). In addition, SCVH includes a network of primary care clinics, urgent‑care centers, dental services, behavioral health services, and a broad range of specialty services in our Valley Specialty Center.

Providers in our system also benefit from an integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together systemwide patient information. The Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recognized SCVMC for achieving its highest level of success (Stage
7).

About the Department

Our Division of Ophthalmology provides inpatient services and outpatient care for adult and pediatric patients covering the entire spectrum of ophthalmology. Physicians who join our team will find a collegial environment, robust specialty support, and an integrated electronic health record. SCVH’s Level 1 and Level 2 Trauma Centers, Burn Center and NICUs are supported by Ophthalmology, serving a diverse population with a focus on equity and inclusion.

  • Fellowship-trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology.
  • Full‑time clinical position focused on pediatric ophthalmology.
  • Outpatient clinic and surgical responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to teach residents and medical students through affiliation with Stanford University School of Medicine.
Oculoplastic Surgeon – Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Regional Medical Center
  • Fellowship-trained in Oculoplastic Surgery.
  • Build the transorbital skull base surgery program in partnership with VMC’s Neurosurgery Department.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including ENT, Neurosurgery on orbital malignancies, infections, and trauma.
  • Expertise in management of lacrimal system disorders, potential collaboration with ENT team on endoscopic cases.
  • Hybrid practice combining general ophthalmology and complex orbital pathology.
  • Access to research opportunities through VMC and affiliated institutions.
  • Opportunities to mentor Stanford medical students and residents.
  • Call responsibilities at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with resident team coverage for oculoplastic and one week per month at Regional Medical Center of primary call for general ophthalmology.
