We are seeking a Locum Psychiatrist (Adult and/or Child & Adolescent) for an outpatient setting in San Jose, California
. This opportunity offers excellent hourly compensation, schedule flexibility, and a balanced mix of telehealth and in-person care.

• $300/hour (open to higher rates)

• Must be local or drive-in within 30 miles of ZIP 95128
• In-person required at least 1 day per week

• 12–16 hours/week (maximum 16 hours currently)
• Business hours:
  Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Highly flexible scheduling (fixed weekly schedule required)
• Potential for additional hours in Spring 2026
• Start Date:
  
  Tentatively January 2026 (flexible)
• Either:
  • Ages 5+ (Adult & Pediatric)
  • OR
  • Child & Adolescent only (ages 5–17)
• Common diagnoses include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, and limited schizoaffective cases
• Minimal involvement with JV-220 cases
• Services provided via outpatient clinic and telehealth (Zoom)

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, MSEs, and diagnoses per DSM guidelines
• Provide ongoing medication management, including controlled substances
• Develop and document individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and peer consultation as needed
• Prepare clinical and legal documentation when required
• Educate families and caregivers on diagnoses and treatment plans

• Active California medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (Adult and/or Child & Adolescent preferred, not a deal breaker)
• Eligible for Medi-Cal and Medicare
• Authorized to prescribe controlled substances
• Comfortable with EHR systems and telehealth platforms
• Flu and COVID vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Must enter hours via the Vemsta platform

• Credentialing timeframe:
  30–40 days
• No travel or mileage reimbursement
