Department SummaryThe Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at SJSU offers dynamic BS and MS BME programs. Our faculty are active researchers funded by agencies like NSF and NIH, working on biomaterials, imaging, nanotech, and more.
Responsibilities- Develop course materials including syllabi, notes, slides, and assessments.
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials as per university standards.
- Coordinate activities of lab assistants if applicable.
- Grade assignments and exams promptly.
- Address diverse student needs through inclusive teaching strategies.
- Organize classes within Canvas LMS.
- Ensure classes meet scheduled modes (in-person, online, hybrid).
- Hold weekly office hours for student support.
- Enforce academic policies and report violations.
- Post final grades timely.
Minimum MS in Biomedical Engineering or related field. Expertise in biomedical electronics, imaging, biomechanics, biomaterials, or related areas. Experience with diverse student populations is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications- PhD or extensive industry/research experience.
- Ability to evaluate adult learners.
Salary depends on qualifications; ranges from $5,507 to $10,347 per month. Application requires CV, cover letter, references, teaching philosophy, and expertise statement. Employment is contingent upon background checks, eligibility, and budget considerations.
