Position Summary
At KIPP Public Schools Northern California, fostering a positive school culture is essential to student success. The Content Specialist will collaborate with teachers, students, families and staff to develop and implement programs that promote the school’s values of Excellence, Belonging, Determination and Integrity. This short‑term role reports to Professional Development, starting July 14 and ending October 31, 2025.
Preferred Qualifications- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience as an educator teaching students with similar demographics.
- Previous Leadership or Teacher‑Leader experience preferred (e.g., Grade Level Lead, Instructional Coach, Content Lead).
- B.A./B.S. from a regionally accredited institution.
- Preferred:
Hold a valid California teaching credential or out‑of‑state equivalent license.

- Engage staff, students, and families through PD, parent meetings, and student meetings focused on building a healthy culture.
- Facilitate continuous improvement of cultural enabling systems, including execution of school‑wide routines and restorative conferences.
- Manage campus monitors, school safety structures, and student support/behavior intervention systems.
- Support daily school operations (arrival/dismissal, lunch/recess, school trips).
- Act as contact for student intervention and parent engagement, determining next steps for issues beyond the teacher/grade level.
- Create and facilitate PD on behavioral management best practices.
- Provide coaching to teachers and leaders on classroom cultural excellence.
- Ensure strong execution of school‑wide routines.
- Collect, analyze and disseminate data on culture systems to drive academic improvement.
- Organize school‑wide academic and non‑academic celebrations in partnership with the leadership team.
- Develop scope and sequence for Advisory and respond to behavioral crises.
- Collaborate on individual behavior plans and lead restorative conferences.
- Manage reflection room and disciplinary processes.
Model and support the school’s vision and goals with a focus on MTSS and individualized student needs.
- Drive the MTSS system in collaboration with staff.
- Co‑facilitate the COST Team to assess student needs.
- Collaborate with mental health counselors and coordinate 504 meetings.
- Monitor the efficacy of supports, services, and interventions.
- Provide PD on tiered systems of support.
- Support implementation and maintenance of an MTSS data system.
- Manage Ed Specialists and review caseloads regularly.
- Serve as administrator at IEP meetings and coach Ed Specialists.
- Collaborate with regional leaders to uphold co‑teaching model.
- Serve as point of contact for direct reports and hold them accountable.
Physical: Ability to navigate school and classroom settings; lift up to 20 lbs.; perform routine movement tasks such as kneeling, walking, pushing, bending, and reaching overhead.
Mental: Manage time, analyze problems, handle interruptions, concentrate for long periods.
Environmental: Work in a school setting with constant interruptions; adhere to health and safety guidelines.
