Major Duties and Responsibilities- Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques needed for softball.
- Show leadership and character traits appropriate to educational leadership.
- Organize practices and design an appropriate conditioning program in cooperation with the varsity head coach and/or Athletic Director.
- Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms as delegated.
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, and the community.
- Instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork in a group of young people with varying athletic ability and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Help students balance a demanding academic workload with athletic commitment.
- Follow CIF/CCSBVAL Coaches Code of Conduct, BVAL policies, district guidelines and cash‑handling protocols.
- Maintain positive communication with players and parents and work cohesively with all coaches in the program.
- Playing experience in softball at high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional level.
- Experience coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camps in softball, or equivalent experience.
- Current state of California coaching certifications.
- Required certifications: mandatory reporter training and district‑approved coaching endorsements.
- Pass district fingerprint clearance.
- Professional references available upon request.
- Complete Edjoin online application, cover letter, and resume.
- Provide valid TB test results, CPR, First Aid, sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), heat illness prevention, blood borne pathogen exposure prevention, and concussion certifications prior to employment.
- Must complete mandated reporter and sexual harassment training.
- Drivers for Fax, CPR, and other health/cleaning certifications as required by district policy.
