Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Full-Time | School Setting | California | 20 Weeks
Amergis Educational Staffing is hiring a full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across three campuses:
Elementary, Middle, and High School in a California school setting. The role begins ASAP and runs through the end of the school year.

San Jose, California - Grade Level: Elementary, Middle, and High School
- Schedule:
40 hours/week (split between three campuses) - Start Date:

In-person or virtual
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Rehabilitation, or Visual Impairment (required)
- Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) through ACVREP, including:
- Completion of an approved educational program
- 350+ hour internship
- Passing the certification exam
- Certificate of Clearance from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Ability to write and teach Braille to students
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Master’s degree in Special Education or Visual Impairment
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments in a school setting
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive devices
