Middle School Tennis Coach
Join The Rhoades School as our Middle School Tennis Coach. The role is seasonal, located at 3800 Blackford Avenue, San Jose, CA.
OverviewThe opportunity to coach middle‑school athletes in a supportive, independent educational environment. The position requires dedication to athlete wellbeing, program development, quality coaching, and ongoing education on best practices.
Responsibilities- Commit to athlete well‑being and develop the school athletic program.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Schedule practices and games; manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
- Travel on the school bus to away games and practices per the season schedule.
- Practice 4:00‑6:00 PM during the season; prepare pre‑season plans, in‑season game schedules, scouting, practice plans, and post‑season performance training.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for student‑athletes, faculty, parents, and community members.
- Experience coaching middle, high school, or college‑level tennis.
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree encouraged.
- Strong knowledge of tennis training, conditioning, and corrective techniques.
- Ability to coach athletes of diverse ages and skill levels.
- Effective communication skills and technology proficiency.
- Season:
Spring (March 8 – May 16). - Hours:
8–10 hours per week. - Pay: $28–$35 per hour.

3800 Blackford Avenue, San Jose, CA.
