Role OverviewAs a Test Equipment Engineer
, you will design, develop, and sustain advanced industrial‑grade assembly and test equipment to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing operations. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and compliance of our robotic surgical systems and associated accessories.
- Design, install, and maintain industrial control systems and test equipment.
- Develop and assemble electrical and electromechanical modules and systems.
- Support NPI and manufacturing teams by delivering high-quality assembly and test solutions.
- Research emerging technologies and create test equipment from concept to production release.
- Build prototypes and develop test fixtures for conceptual designs.
- Document specifications, requirements, and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot complex malfunctions and resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and priorities.
- Lead compliance and safety testing for electrical, mechanical, and optical systems.
- Create, modify, and maintain hardware and software for new and revised products.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales during product development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer,
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field. - At least two to four years of experience in a regulated industry (medical device experience preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing principles and project management.
- Proficiency in problem‑solving tools (Green Belt preferred) and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
- Programming experience (Python3 preferred).
- Familiarity with servos, actuators, industrial I/O devices, pneumatics, and robotics.
- CAD knowledge (Solid Works and/or AutoCAD preferred).
- Six Sigma and process excellence methodologies.
- Business and financial acumen.
